Danielle started out doing hair in Florida and soon realized the best way to grow as a hairstylist was to move to the fashion Mecca of New York City. She packed up and, at the age of 19, moved to NYC and got a job as an assistant at a Madison Avenue salon. She spent the next 20 years working as a color specialist on Madison Ave and 5th Ave at well known salons such as Eiji, Louis Licari, and Hiro Haraguchi - learning, building a loyal clientele, and educating assistants and junior stylists. In the early 2000’s, Danielle began to travel weekly to Westport, CT to accommodate a discerning clientele, heavily focusing on service and quality.
Danielle moved to NJ in 2007, and continued commuting into Manhattan and Westport. Danielle has had the pleasure and privilege of not only working behind the chair on actors, socialites, CEO’s and CFO’s, but also working on hair and custom hair pieces for NY Fashion Week - and has styled hair for designers such as Zang Toi and Thierry Mugler.
Now she is licensed in 4 states and brings her experience, training, and talent to NJ. Danielle and her husband, Jose, opened their Morris County location in September of 2019 in Cedar Knolls.
Appointments with Danielle are available in Cedar Knolls, Westport, and New York City.
Jose started his career over 30 years ago in a top salon in Great Neck, Long Island. Fatefully, a client mentioned a name that would alter the course of Jose’s career. It led to the renown John Sahag, owner of a prestigious salon on Madison Avenue, where John personally educated his hand-picked staff in the art of dry hair cutting. The journey of a lifetime began with one train ride into New York City.
Fashion shows, photo shoots, TV appearances, platform work, super models, rock stars, actors, socialites, and high-profile movers and shakers followed.
Working alongside some of the best in the industry in top Madison Avenue Salons, namely John Sahag, John Frieda, Eiji, and Hiro Haraguchi, perfected Jose’s haircutting skills and boosted his exposure.
Three decades later, Jose’s loyal following can find him operating two Sola Salon Studios with his wife and partner, Danielle, in Westport Connecticut and Cedar Knolls, New Jersey.
